The coconut grows on coconut palms which are up to 30 meters high and is not a real “nut”, but the largest seed of the world. The typical white fruit pulp and the hairy, woody shell are a characteristic of ripe coconuts, while young coconuts contain a lot of coconut water but hardly any fruit pulp. The coconuts for our organic coconut flakes are harvested fully ripened from the palm.

Did you know: Coconuts that fall from the palm tree are usually already spoiled and inedible. After harvesting, the coconuts are cracked, the remaining coconut water is removed, and the fruit pulp is cut and dried gently and naturally. This gives our coconut chips an intense tropical aroma and many of its valuable ingredients are preserved. These include important minerals such as zinc, phosphorus, selenium, iron and magnesium – but also a natural proportion of fat and sugar, which provides long-lasting satiation without driving up the blood sugar level too much. Organic dried coconut flakes by fairsnack are an ideal snack on-the-go or as part of a low-carbohydrate diet. Also, coconut flakes add an interesting tropical twist to salads, muesli and smoothies.
